Tollywood BO Report: Thank You washes out

Another weekend ended on a disappointing note. This time it is more disastrous for trade as the latest release Thank You registered embarrassing collections in the just concluded weekend.

Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You, which released amid low buzz, was expected to perform at least moderately because it is a Dil Raju’s production, one of the reliable filmmakers in Tollywood. Also, director Vikram Kumar’s films usually pique the interest of class audiences and will have a minimum guarantee at the box office. Unfortunately, nothing saved this film from turning into a huge disaster in the first weekend.

Super confident RaPo takes plunge into distribution

After shocking first-day collections, Thank You didn’t show any signs of improvement on Saturday and Sunday as the numbers plummeted further. The overall share of the film in the opening weekend is less than 3 Crores which means it is a huge box office debacle. Thank You will go down as one of the biggest loss ventures in Naga Chaitanya’s career.

The monotonous narration and cliched story are said to be the liabilities of this film. Audiences outrightly rejected the film on the first day itself. The wait for trade circles to end this low phase at the box office will continue. All weekends after Major and Vikram films turned out to be a huge disappointment as none of the films registered decent revenues since then.
