Tollywood is back in business with three blockbuster hits in August so far. As trade awaits the release of Puri Jagannadh’s Liger, the most anticipated film of the season, many medium-budget films have locked the release dates in September.
Seasoned filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyan Selvan 1, featuring an ensemble cast, is the only big-ticket film slated for release in September. The pan-India film has been generating good buzz ever since the makers unveiled the posters and teasers.
Vaishnav Tej’s Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is one of the September releases which is carrying decent hype among others. The youthful promotional content managed to draw the attention of audiences. Kiran Abbavaram’s Nenu Meeku Baga Kavalsinavadini is another film with a similar genre which is getting ready for release in the same month.
Sharwanand’s Oke Okka Jeevitham and Sudheer Babu’s Aa Ammayi Gurunchi Meeku Cheppali are also releasing in the next month. Both films are yet to create any buzz due to a lack of strong promotions.
Sree Vishnu’s Alluri garnered attention with its trailer. The cop drama is releasing on September 23rd. Naga Shaurya’s Krishna Vrindha Vihari is also releasing next month.
Two low-budget films Saakini Daakini and Dongalu Vunnaru Jagrata are also ready to test their luck in September.
Overall it’s a jam-packed September with one pan-India film and a slew of promising medium-budget outings.
