Saakini Daakini Movie Review Rating : 1.5/5

Korean film, Midnight Runners has been remaked into Saakini Daakini, in Telugu by Sudheer Varma. He directed Swami Ra Ra, DoChay, Keshava, Ranarangam till now. Nivetha Thomas and Regina Cassandra have been cast in the leading lady roles. In the original, two boys go on a “outing” and here, ladies go out from Police Academy. Let’s discuss about the film.

Shalini (Nivetha Thomas) and Damini (Regina Cassandra) come from teo different backgrounds to Police Academy. Damini’s parents are also Police Officers and they decide her fate to be an IPS officer without her consent. Shalini doesn’t have a goal in life and she decides to become a police officer as it sounds fun. Her lack of seriousness and over friendly nature disturbs Damini who has OCD. Both of them start to fight with each other and during one moment, when Damini needs someone to help, Shalini puts their ego clashes aside and help her. As their constant fights earn them “trouble makers” title, this one incident change that and make them “true besties”. One night, they decide go on a outing to a pub and that changes their lives. What happened that night? Watch the movie to know more…

Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali Review

Film doesn’t feel like a Sudheer Varma’s film. The writing and film making are too sub-standard for a skilled man like him to be associated with. The low production values are visible in the first hour of the film. And the comedy hurls the pacing too much that we feel like rushing to the good parts, if there are any. It irritates in the name of comedy to that level that it you feel like dropping the idea of completing this film.

Nivetha Thomas tried too hard to play a comic role and Regina Cassandra played her part with better ease. Still, for the potential both of them have shown, this performance is not upto the mark. Technical values, production design and comedy, everything feels cheap and waste of efforts. On the whole, this is one avoidable film.

  • Comic Scenes
  • Irritating Narration
