Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali Review

Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali Review Rating : 2/5
Indraganti Mohankrishna post Grahanam started making fun films that everyone can watch. His humour has been noted to be “healthy” and “playful”. His Aasta Chemma made the career of Nani, Avasarala Srinivas, Swathi Reddy. Post that he did not find such huge box office acceptance but his movies have been entertaining and collections wise decent too. His film Sammohanam with Sudheer Babu became a box office success when no one anticipated it to be. Now, he has made a movie on the similar lines with Krithi Shetty as female lead while Sudheer Babu becomes the representative of film industry, in this one. Let’s discuss about the film at length.
Plot:
Naveen (Sudheer Babu) finds a success formula and follows it to deliver six hits. Some people point out it to him and he too agrees with them. He takes it as a challenge to make a completely different film. He starts searching fot cast but producers ask him films in his regular style. His friend (Rahul Ramakrishna) decides to support his vision. Finally, Naveen is able to find an ideal woman for his romantic film. He watches Alekhya (Krithi Shetty), a doctor, and decides to cast her and her, only. But her family hates the idea. Even she doesn’t have any interest in becoming an actress. But Naveen decides to convince them. Could he? Watch the movie to know more…
Analysis:
Sudheer Babu found his comfort zone in performing several scenes and he has been sticking to them, mostly. Indraganti Mohankrishna did not try to challenge him much and wrote a script that suits Sudheer. Hence, it feels like we are watching him perform in a similar kind of role to his previous films, again. Still, his screen presence has improved lot more than any of his previous films. Krithi Shetty tried to come up with a good performance as per the role demands but failed to leave an impact. But her looks in this movie are praiseworthy. None of the others make any impact on us.
Rajamouli surprised with Western reception of RRR
Director and writer Indraganti Mohankrishna tends to tell known stories in his own style. At times, he slows everything trying to infuse feel into the mix. But the slow pacing transforms into screenplay on screen, in this particular film. He doses of humour worked out well in Sammohanam but that similar pattern did not work here as the comedy seems to amateurish. Better writing and filmmaking would have helped the plot, as it seems sensible and worth of a good movie. Unfortunately, this movie remains a wasted opportunity.
Positives:
- Sudheer Babu’s screen presence
- Krithi Shetty’s looks
- Few emotional moments
Negatives:
- Slow pace
- Aimless Narration
- Predictability
- Ineffective Scenes
Bottom-line: Better to not know her!
