FIFA World Cup Edition 2022: Brazil to clash with Croatia in quarter finals

In the pre-quarter final match between Japan and Croatia on day 16 of FIFA World Cup 2022, Croatia was against Japan on penalties 3-1 to make into Quarter finals. Both the sides played well till the end of the extra time of the match. Japan took the lead into the 43rd minute scored by the Forward Diazen Maeda. In the 55th minute, Midfielder Ivan Perisic of Croatia leveled the score 1-1. The match ended at 1-1 till the second half and went in extra time both the sides could not find the target and in the dying seconds of the extra time, Croatia missed the goal by whisker and the score was tied at 1-1 each. Finally the match went into penalty shootout. Dominic Livakovic, the Croatian goalkeeper became the hero in the penalty shootout who made 3 saves and helped Croatia a 3-1 win on penalties.
In the other match of the day, Brazil humbled South Korea 4-1. The match was totally one sided dominated by Brazil. Forward Vinicous Junior opened the scoring in the 7th minute for Brazil to give to 1-0 lead . Forward Neymer put ahead Brazil 2-0 in the 13th minute. In the 29th minute Richarlison scored a brilliant goal to give 3-0 lead for Brazil and after 7th minutes Midfileder Lucas Paqueta scored in the 36th minute to give Brazil a comfortable lead 4-0. At half time Brazil lead 4-0. In the second half Brazil played in a relaxed manner and in the 76th minute Paik Seung-ho scored a consolation goal for South Korea to reduce the score 4-1. The win put Brazil into the quarter finals where they will face Croatia on 9th Dec’2022.
