On day 19th day of the fifa world cup edition 2022 two quarterfinal matches were played in the first match Croatia beat Brazil in penalties 4-2.Brazil playing with their full strength, as usual were dominating,but could not pierce the rigid defence of Croatia and the match went into the extra time.In the 105th minute neymar scored a brilliant goal by dodging past the defence by equaling pele’s record of 77 goals.By the end of the first half of extra time brazil lead 1-0.Croatia put up a fought back in the 117th minute petkovic scored the equaliserto tie the score 1-1 at the end of the match score was 1-1 and went into the penalities.Croatia came out on the top in the penalties with a score 4-2 to advance to the semi-final.In the another match Argentina over came out on the top in the penalties with a score 4-2 to advance to the semi-final.In the another match Argentina overcame Netherlands 4-3 in penalties after 2-2 in the end of the extra time.It was an extraordinary match.Molina opened the scoring in 35th minute to give 1-0 lead for Argentina.Messi scored a penalty in the 73rd minute to give 2-0 lead. After that Netherlands went with a all-out attack weghorst scored a brace in the 83rd minute and in the dying seconds of the normal time .In the extra time both the sides couldn’t find the target and the match went into the penalties. Argentina held its nerves to score 4-3 in penalties to move into semi-finals to face Croatia.
