Yashoda Movie Review : Missed Foremost Thrill.

Yashoda Movie Review Rating : 2.5/5
Samantha’s Yashoda is now available in theatres. Makers have left no stone in promoting the film worldwide. The film is written and directed by Hari and Harish, who made their Tollywood debut with Yashoda. The movie was released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam. Let us have a look at the Yashoda movie review.
Yashoda is a movie based on real-life incidents of surrogacy. The movie starts with a rape and murder mystery. The story takes place when Samantha (Yashoda) accepts surrogacy for a hefty price. She joins Eva hospital’s facility, world-class care for women who are opting for surrogacy. But, behind the scenes, women from the surrogacy department keep disappearing one by one. Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar plays the role of Madhu, a Doctor at Eva Hospital.
The movie is started on two different notes. But at someone stage of the movie, one of the slots was stagnant. Some key moments missed elevation. The first half of the film is predictable and quite average. Yashoda is written and directed by Hari and Harish, they fulfiled their part partially. But we see a lack in the screenplay. The second half has two flashbacks. Yashoda has missed that content, what thriller movie lovers expect. But, production values are good.
On the big screen, the movie might not work well and the audience might wait for an OTT release. Only for Samantha, the audience should walk into theatres. As N number of thrillers are now available on OTT and moviegoers mostly preferred to sit at their home theatres and watch rather than walk into theatres for an average film.
If you are going to Yashoda with low expectations, we can walk out happily. Narration hardly shows the thrills and entirely misses the impact of creating thrill and concentrated mostly on surrogacy and beauty. We can see the rushes and clumsiness as well.
Marthand K Venkatesh’s editing is disappointing. Mani Sharma’s background score has grained mileage for the film.
WOW! 20 years for Prabhas Eeswar, still as young as he was
Positives :
- Core plot
- BGM
- Samantha’s elevation
- Pre interval episode
Negatives :
- Slow Narration
- Madhu’s elevation
- Screenplay
- Routine Drama
- Twists and Turns (what is needed for a thriller movie).
Rather than a thriller, we can call Yashoda an action film. The film has got a rebellion fight episode in the second episode. Pre climax episode is top-notch and as usual, the film ends on a happy note.
Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Varu Sarathkumar and Unni Mukundhan have done their parts good. Samantha as usual has given her blood and sweat for the role.
Verdict: : Go without expectations and enjoy Yashoda
