Vikram Movie Review : Watch in Theatres

Vikram Movie Review : 3/5
Vikram is the first movie from Kamal Haasan after he announced to move into a political career in Films. He has come back to the film industry and Lokesh Kanagaraj being his fan, announced that he has made this movie to give legend tribute. He connected Vikram (1986) to Khaidi/Kaththi and has a lieu of great actors like Vijay Sethupathi, Fahad Fassil, Santhana Bharathi and above all Suriya in the film. Let’s discuss how the movie is.
Plot :
Karnan (Kamal Haasan) is killed in the first scene of the film by a gang of revolutionists who say that his killing is a statement. Along with him, they kill two more police officials. Amar (Fahad Fassil) enters the scene as an investigator and discovers that Prabhanjan, son of Karnan is also killed by revolutionists. He discovers that Karnan followed a pattern post his son’s death and suspects Sandhanam (Vijay Sethupathi) drug lord behind all this. His investigation uncovers that police officials are helping drug lords and those who are specifically being targeted. He suspects Karnan himself of doing all this. Is it so? If so, who is he? Why is he doing all this? Watch the movie to know more.
Analysis::
The movie starts off with a bang and Anirudh Ravichandran doesn’t let you breathe for one minute. His pulsating score changes with the proceedings and elevates every scene. He is the first real hero of the film. Cinematographer Girish Gangadharan did his best work in showing every actor at their best while maintaining a darker theme.
In writing, few areas could have been better in the second hour, but Lokesh delivers big action moments like a master. Agent Rina’s episode hits you at the right moment. Gore elements are far high and maybe those who don’t like to watch such high octane gore on the scene might stay away. Writing-wise Lokesh did not leave out any character underwritten. He overwrote Vijay Sethupathi’s character in a few scenes. Still, for his efforts, he deserves applause.
In performances wise Kamal Haasan has done it all and he showcased his Versatility again. His screen presence makes this movie what it is. A tribute to him. Fahad Fassil scores the most and he effortlessly carries the investigation portions and arrests you to screen when he is on. Vijay Sethupathi is underwhelming but is good in scenes when he is opposite Fahad and Kamal. Suriya cameo will be the most talked about. Agent Tina steals the show in between the male testosterone pumping action scenes.
Positives:
Kamal Haasan
Fahad Fassil
Package of performances from everyone
Suriya cameo Action scenes.
Negatives:
Drag in second halfover stretched climax.
