Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja after Khiladi worked on his next release Ramarao On Duty for past one year. Sarath Mandava is debuting with this movie and Venu Thottempudi is coming back with this movie. Let’s discuss about the movie…

Plot:
Ramarao (Ravi Teja) works in Government Administration as Mandal Revenue Officer. His Family, more to be precise his father (Nasser) asks him to not be aggresive but work with principles in life. His wife Nandhini (Divyanshu Kaushik) doubts his relationship with Malini (Rajisha Vijayan). His brother though has different mindset. Local Sub-inspector Murali (Venu Thottempudi) challenges Ramarao and SP (John Vijay) also supports SI. Why did these two challenge Ramarao? Watch the movie to know…

Analysis:
Either Tollywood storytelling needs to infuse new blood or they should at least give new storylines a try. This kind of old wine in old bottle style of movie-making is no longer working out. Filmmaker tries to give heroic elevations but doesn’t have any kind of knowledge about earning that elevation. Movie never takes off from being simple and drags on like anything. Over the top action episodes bring down the movie even more. It feels like makers have taken everything for granted right from writing to detective sequence to twist revelation. Absolutely nothing works.

Ravi Teja has great screen presence and he could carry some mediocre scripts on his shoulders. But he needs better scripts to come his way. This kind of neither exciting nor fresh doesn’t work for him too. A star like him needs to put in more effort in choosing directors and writers to be honest. Cinematography is fine and BGM works. All other departments have failed and writing is just poor. Overall, it is an avoidable film.

Positives:

  • Ravi Teja performance
  • Venu’s scenes
  • Sam CS BGM

Negatives:

  • Lethargic screenplay
  • Logicless narrative
  • Taken for Granted Story
  • Drag in Second Half
  • Predictability

Bottom-line: Ramarao Overdoes Duty!

Ramarao On Duty Review Rating : 1.5/5
