Vikram dethrones Baahubali 2, emerges as all-time blockbuster

Kamal Haasan has pulled off an unbelievable feat at the box office with his latest film Vikram. By the end of its 16th day, Vikram has emerged as the highest-grossing Tamil film by surpassing the collections of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 which remained at the top spot for five years.

Vikram, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, collected 150 Crores gross by this Saturday and emerged as the all-time biggest hit in Tamilnadu. The film dethroned Baahubali 2( 146 Crores) to the second spot and scripted history at the Kollywood box office. With its steady run even after completing two weeks, Vikram is expected to rake in more than 175 Crores gross in Tamilnadu alone in its full run.

Vijay’s Master ( 142 Crores) and Bigil ( 141 Crores) take the third and the fourth spots after Vikram and Baahubali 2 in the list of all-time highest-grossing Tamil films.

Vikram is having a dream run in all territories of its release. The scintillating action drama toppled several existing records and set a new benchmark for upcoming films. In overseas, Vikram emerged as a blockbuster hit with more than 2.7 million dollars by the end of the third weekend.
