Lokesh Kanagaraj: Only director to have films for next ten years

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj made a solid entry to films with Maanagaram. Later, he scored a blockbuster with Kaithi. Later, he got a chance to work with Thalapathy Vijay for Master. This year, he scored another blockbuster with Kamal Haasan’s Vikram.

With Vikram, Lokesh Kanagaraj opened his own cinematic universe by connecting its story with Kaithi. After Vikram’s success, there was a huge anticipation built around Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).

In a recent interaction with Film Companion, Lokesh opened up about his cinematic universe. He said that he is set for the next 10 years. He stated that he has ideas ready for Vikram 2, Kaithi 2 and Rolex. He added that he can make any sequel or prequel in this LCU based on the ask.

With this statement, Lokesh confirmed that there will be many more parts of his cinematic universe will be coming up in the next few years.

Currently, Lokesh is busy with the pre-production works of his next film with Thalapathy Vijay. The regular shoot is expected to begin soon. It will be produced by Seven Screen Studio. Star music director Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music for it. The film is expected to release by the end of 2023 or early 2024.
