Kamal and Mani Ratnam reunite after 35 years

Universal actor Kamal Haasan and legendary auteur Mani Ratnam are going to join forces again after a gap of three and a half decades. This is probably the longest gap taken by an actor and director to reunite in the history of Indian cinema. Last time, they worked on a masterpiece film Nayakan ( Nayakudu) which is rated as one of all-time classics. Kamal Haasan himself revealed this big piece of news through his social media handle and this has created a massive buzz in media and trade across South India.
Kamal made a strong statement that age is no bar to entertain with his recent outing Vikram which emerged as a box office blockbuster. Mani Ratnam also made a sensational comeback with historical magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan 1. At this juncture, the coming together of both these renowned artists is itself a selling point among audiences. Moreover, the association of music maestro AR Rahman with this project adds more buzz from all quarters.
Kamal is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film Indian 2 and Mani Ratnam is going to commence the second part of Ponniyin Selvan. After wrapping up these projects, the duo will start working on their film which is expected to roll out in the second half of 2024.
