Waltair Veerayya trailer : A formulaic mass entertainer

The theatrical trailer of Waltair Veerayya is out this Saturday evening and it presents Megastar Chiranjeevi in an ultra-mass avatar in a formulaic entertainer that is packed with all masala elements.

The three-minute trailer is loaded with all ingredients that make a Paisa Vasool entertainer during the Sankranti festival. It has Chiranjeevi back to his vintage mass get-up with hilarious mannerisms and perfect comedy timing. There are loads of action elements, punch dialogues, and mass songs which will entertain his fans. The trailer completely focuses on elevating Chiranjeevi and also showcases that Ravi Teja has a meaty role in the story. It drops enough hints that the second half is all about the confrontation between Chiru and Ravi Teja.

The mass trailer opens up with the introduction of Chiranjeevi as an international criminal who involves in the drug business. The police are tasked with the job to keep him in their custody. Chiru makes a rocking entry as Veerayya. He brings to the fore his inimitable comedy timing in scenes with Shruti Haasan and showcases his vintage dance moves. He challenges his adversaries in his style and bashes them with ease. Ravi Teja makes a dynamic entry as a cop who is entrusted with the responsibility to nab Veerayya. The trailer ends on a hilarious note with Chiru reprising Ravi Teja’s famous ‘Local’ dialogue from Idiot movie.

Devi Sri Prasad does a decent job with his background music and the cinematography is impressive. Ram – Lakshman masters composed solid action blocks which are likely to be the major highlight of the film. Director Bobby seems to have made this a complete entertainer with loads of mass elements featuring Chiru in an energetic role. The Chiru vs Ravi Teja point is likely to be the key for the film’s success.

Production values by Mythri Movie Makers are rich. The film is slated for release on January 13th.
