Vaarasudu Release: Dil Raju couldn’t keep his promise!

Top Telugu producer Dil Raju teamed up with star Tamil hero Vijay for the film Varisu. It was released in Tamil on January 11. The release of Vaarasudu, the Telugu dubbed version, has been postponed to January 14 to accommodate more theatres for straight Telugu films Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya.

A few days back, Dil Raju announced in a press meeting that he will bring Vijay for the Telugu promotions. He promised that Vijay would promote the film in Telugu this time for sure.

The pre-release press meet of Vaarasudu was held the other day in Hyderabad. However, Vijay was absent from the event. Dil Raju, the film’s director Vamshi Paidipally, actors Srikanth, Sarathkumar, Shaam, and Jayasudha graced the event.

Ahead of the film’s release, there were no expectations around Vaarasudu in Telugu. The film was released already, and there is no noise about the movie. Except for some paid tweets on social media, there are no genuine reviews of the film. As expected, the Telugu critics pointed out that the film is an amalgamation of several Telugu blockbusters.

On top of that, Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy got thumping openings. If Vijay had promoted the film, Vaarasudu could have gotten a boost in Telugu states. The irony is that Vijay’s last two films got good opening reception, compared to Vaarasudu.

Now, the film entirely depends on word of mouth. Dil Raju couldn’t keep his promise, and we have to see if he manages to score a hit with Vaarasudu despite not doing any promotions.

Let us also hope that Vijay comes for the promotions, post the film’s release.
