USA BO report : Dhamaka and 18 Pages underperform, Cirkus tanks heavily

New Telugu releases Dhamaka and 18 Pages couldn’t perform in the USA as per the expectations of trade circles. While the domestic collections are very promising for Dhamaka, the overseas numbers are a bit disappointing to its buyers. 18 Pages also didn’t find big patronage in the USA in the first weekend.
Dhamaka started slowly with $ 81K from its first day including Thursday premieres. There is hardly any gain in momentum on Saturday as the film managed to collect only a meager $41K. By the end of Sunday, the total gross will linger around $ 150K which is way below the trade expectations. As Dhamaka is a complete masala entertainer, the overseas numbers are not as strong as the domestic collections.
Nikhil Siddharth’s 18 Pages also didn’t show any great signs. The film took a below-par start with $40K from Thursday premieres. There is no growth in the numbers thereafter as the film collected $ 36K and $ 32K in the next two days. The first-weekend gross is around $130k.
Bollywood film Cirkus, starring Ranvir Singh, tanked heavily with its poor run in the first weekend. The film collected a disappointing $ 240K in the first weekend. The embarrassing reviews and dull word of mouth have impacted the collections big time.
