Tollywood in 2022: 5 Blockbusters that showed ‘Telugu’ strength

As 2022 is on its last leg, like any other medium, we’ve also tried to retrospect the year as a whole in the films that were released. We could manage to trace out all the films that are released in the year and we can say that around 89 films have made a theatrical release this year.
Out of them, we could say five films have not only topped the box office but also across the whole country. Although the first blockbuster recorded at the box office was ‘Powerstar’ Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Bheemla Nayak’, it is S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, that actually shook the whole country at-once at-the-same time. The film grossed ₹1,200 CR worldwide making it the third highest-grossing Indian film and second highest-grossing Telugu film worldwide.
Another unforeseen film is ‘Sita Ramam’, a romantic drama which took the audience by its heart. The film became an instant classic for many and was also lauded for its tragic climax. Next joins ‘DJ Tillu’ the film which was just released as a small-budget, less-reputed but well-promoted film and turned out to be a blockbuster with laughing riots.
Added to the list is ‘Karthikeya 2’ which had a domestic gross collection of the film was ₹91 CR and ‘HIT: The Second Case’, which became a commercial success by grossing ₹45 CR at the box office.
