Tollywood audience waiting for Anirudh to take over

Telugu film lovers are hankering for more music treats from top-billing musician Anirudh Ravichander. They are no longer interested to lap up the works of Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman because their albums are turning out to be repetitive and monotonous. Both of these top rated composers haven’t been able to deliver tunes and BGM scores that match the high expectations of moviegoers.
Thaman is the leading composer in Tollywood right now. After Ala Vykuntapuramlo, Thaman didn’t produce a blockbuster album barring a few chartbuster songs. He lined up crazy projects like Veera Simha Reddy, Varisu, Charan – Shankar film, and Mahesh – Trivikram film. There is a lot of pressure on him to deliver his best for these films. The first single from Veera Simha Reddy evoked a below par response. However, he made amends with the second song Suguna Sundari.
Devi Sri Prasad is also out of his prime form. After Pushpa: The Rise, he wasn’t able to deliver his best till now. He is coming up with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sankranti release ‘Waltair Veerayya’. There are high expectations for DSP’s tunes and BGM for this film. The first two songs – Boss Party and Sridevi Chiranjeevi managed only a lukewarm response. After this, he has Pushpa 2 in his kitty.
Meanwhile, Anirudh is continuing his stupendous form in Tamil with chartbuster albums. There is a lot of pressure from Telugu moviegoers to bring Anirudh on board for more Telugu films. He made his debut with Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi in 2017. Later, he impressed with Jersey and Gang Leader. He is soon going to work for NTR30. There are massive expectations for this album.
Telugu audiences are expecting more albums from Anirudh. Our filmmakers are also considering Anirudh for future big-ticket films. So, it is just a matter of time before he takes over the reins from Thaman and DSP to rule the roost here.
