Music composer SS Thaman often faces the ire of netizens for plagiarising tunes and rehashing songs. He once again came under the direct attack of the Telugu audience for comparing the divine ‘Govinda Govinda’ chant with the popular movie slogan ‘Jai Balayya’.
It is a known fact that Telugu moviegoers often raise the ‘Jai Balayya’ slogan in theatres, pubs and parties. It was first coined by Nandamuri Balakrishna’s fans and later became quite popular with its wide usage everywhere. In his latest film Veera Simha Reddy, musician Thaman composed a song with ‘Jai Balayya’ lyrics. This song, despite having many similarities to tunes of old songs, found traction with music lovers and emerged as a decent hit.
In his recent media interaction, Thaman was asked why he came up with the idea of the Jai Balayya song in this film. For this, he replied that the Jai Balayya slogan is widely popular and akin to the ‘Govinda Govinda’ chant. He also said there is no other popular slogan other than Jai Balayya after Govinda Govinda in the Telugu States.
Thaman’s silly and inane comparison of the divine chant with a film slogan didn’t go well with the audience. They are now trolling Thaman for his loose tongue and foolish comparisons.
