Sridevi Chiranjeevi Song : ‘Run-of-the-Mill’ tune from DSP

The much-hyped single ‘Sridevi Chiranjeevi ‘ from Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film Waltair Veerayya is out this Monday and it falls short of high expectations because of Devi Sri Prasad’s ordinary rendition. The lyrics are catchy but they don’t offer anything novel and exciting. The only saving grace for this song will be the lead pair’s mesmerizing screen presence and eye-catching visuals.
Devi Sri Prasad is known for belting out instant chartbusters with foot-tapping tunes. In this case, he came up with a typical rendition that doesn’t have the zing and x-factor that could make it an instant earworm. DSP himself penned the lyrics but there are not so impressive and give a sense of deja vu. Vocals by Jaspreet Jaz and Sameera Bharadwaj are decent. It is now up to Chiranjeevi’s graceful dance moves to make this song visually appealing as the cinematography is splendid.
DSP will be under immense pressure to deliver his best album and BGM for this prestigious film. The first song Boss Party didn’t excite the music lovers much. Now, it remains to be seen how well will the Sridevi Chiranjeevi song be received. Waltair Veerayya is slated for release on January 13th. KS Ravindra is the director and Mythri Movie Makers produced the film.
