Samantha keeps producers on tenterhooks

High-profile South actress Samantha is keeping her producers on edge. It is a known fact that she has been diagnosed with Myositis, a rare autoimmune infection that affects the muscles. She was away from the limelight for quite some time to get treatment. For her recent film Yashoda, she managed to complete the post-production formalities despite facing serious health issues to get the film released on time. Yashoda managed to mint decent revenues at the box office.

Samantha has two more commitments in her pipeline. One is lady-oriented period drama Shakunthalam and the other is Vijay Devarakonda’s romantic entertainer Khushi. Both these teams are waiting for Samantha’s return to the sets. Shakuntalam was initially supposed to release in October this year. But, the film got postponed indefinitely. Though the shooting was wrapped up long back, there is a considerable amount of post-production work left. Samantha needs to complete some portions of dubbing for her role so that the makers can be able to release the trailer of the film. They can ill-afford more delay as the cost of the production house is mounting as every day passes on.

Also, Khushi was initially supposed to hit the screens in December this year. But, the shooting got delayed several times due to the unavailability of Samantha. Leave about the release plans, the makers are now struggling to complete the remaining portions as there is no clarity on when Samantha gets back to the sets.

The only thing both producers can hope for is Samantha’s recuperation as soon as possible so that she can resume the pending work.
