Project K sneak peek : Re-Inventing the Wheel

Project K is a prodigious and ambitious pan-India film starring Baahubali actor Prabhas and Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The makers of this much-anticipated film have unveiled a video glimpse ahead of New Year and it gives a sneak peek into the making of this big-budget time-travel spectacle which see-saws from the past to the future.
Using the metaphor ‘ Reinventing the Wheel’, the video showcases how the team went through the rigmarole to make a heavy tyre. In the one-minute video, we are taken into an enormous garage where machinery and personnel are deployed to put in a lot of effort both technically and physically to produce a bulky tyre. We can hear a few technicians saying why so much exaggeration to make a tyre when many of them are available for purchase outside in the market. The strenuous efforts of the team and the detailing to get the tyre ready are evident in the video.
It is a bit surprising that they put in a lot of effort to make a tyre. That’s why we usually say don’t reinvent the wheel when someone is trying to do what already exists. But, it seems like director Nag Ashwin and his team have other ideas which can be known only when the film arrives in theatres. Otherwise, why would work with so much conviction and waste a lot of effort for that ‘Tyre’.
Project K is coming from the stables of Vyjayanthi Movies Banner. The film also stars Amithabh Bacchan and Disha Patani in important roles. It is slated for release in the second half of 2023 or early 2024.
