Nithiin’s director in soup, facing ire for political affiliation and biased tweets

Sarkaruvaari Paata director Parasuram faced criticism from a section of political supporters in Andhra Pradesh for using YS Jagan’s popular electioneering slogan in the film. Luckily, it had very little impact on the collections as Mahesh Babu is the lead hero in the film and his fans are inclined toward different political parties.

Now, one more director is in soup for his political affiliation with the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh. Director MS Rajasekhar Reddy of actor Nithiin’s upcoming film Macherla Niyojakavargam is facing the ire of TDP supporters because of his biased and abusive posts on social media. The young director expressed his loathe of TDP party and former CM Chandra Babu Naidu in a derogatory way several times in the past.

Ahead of the film’s release, TDP supporters dug all his past posts from his Twitter and Facebook pages and started to show their wrath for his political affiliation towards YSRCP and his hatred of TDP and its leader. Some have even started a trend to boycott the film.

Actor Nithiin came to the rescue of the director by stating that an abusive Tweet targeting a caste reportedly shown as posted from the director’s account is allegedly a morphed one. But, he has no answer for his other posts which targeted TDP.

Macherla Niyojakavargam is slated for release on August 12th and this controversy is likely to impact the film’s openings for sure. Directors and other movie-related artists should detach themselves from political affiliations if they want their films to have good reception from all sections of the audience.
