Seasoned Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna is awaiting the release of his upcoming thriller ‘The Ghost’ which gearing up to hit the screens for Dussehra. He is currently busy promoting the film quite aggressively. The recently unveiled theatrical trailer received a good response from the audience for its slick elements and racy screenplay. Nagarjuna is very confident that the film will impress all sections of the audience.
For the past couple of weeks, rumours have been making rounds that Nagarjuna will contest as a Member of Parliament from Vijaywada in the next elections. It has been speculated that Nag will represent the ruling YSR Congress party from Vijayawada in the 2024 elections. As Nag maintains a very good relationship with YSR’s family and as he is also a close friend of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, these rumours gained a lot of weight and became a talking point in the Telugu media.
Reacting to these rumours during the trailer launch event of The Ghost, Nagarjuna clarified that he has no intention whatsoever to contest in elections. He rubbished the news that he will contest from Vijayawada. Nag said his name is being dragged into discussion every time before the elections. He asserted there are no such plans in his mind.
