Kaikala Satyanarayana passes away at 87

Legendary Tollywood actor Kaikala Satyanarayana, aged 87, passed away in the wee hours of Friday in Hyderabad. He has been battling age-related health issues for the past couple of years. Last year, he slipped and fell at his home in Hyderabad. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. Later, he was again admitted to the hospital due to ill health and was put on a ventilator for many weeks. Luckily, he recovered fully and was discharged.
Again, he fell ill due to age-related ailments and was getting treated frequently. Unfortunately, he passed away during the early hours of Friday at his residence in Film Nagar, Hyderabad. The family of the veteran actor are making arrangements for his final rites in Hyderabad.
Kaikala Satyanarayana acted in over 750 roles in his career spanning nearly six decades. Besides acting, he also produced many films. Kaikala Satyanarayana was active in politics as well. He was elected as an MP from the Machilipatnam constituency in the 11th Lok Sabha election.
He made his debut with the 1959 film Sipayi Kuthuru, directed by Chengayya. Initially, he played villain roles in films. However, as years passed by, Kaikala Satyanarayana played character roles and made an indelible mark in the hearts of the Telugu audience.
