Golden Globe Awards: ‘Naatu Naatu’ from RRR creates history

‘Golden Globe Awards’ is an annually held awards ceremony organized by the popular Hollywood Foreign Press Association ( HFPA). Awards are bestowed in different categories for excellence in Film and Television. Ranked as the third most-watched awards ceremony after the Oscars and Grammy, the Golden Globe Awards ceremony is being held in Beverly Hills, California this year. Golden Globe Awards is special for Indian fans this year because blockbuster hit RRR secured two nominations for Best Original Song ( Naatu Naatu) and Best Picture in non-English language category.
As predicted, the highly infectious and biggest smash hit, Naatu Naatu from RRR won the Best Original Song at the Golden Globe Awards. Other nominees in the category were Taylor Swift’s Carolina from Where The Crawdads Sing, Ciao Papa from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Lady Gaga’s Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick and Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. This is the first time that an Indian movie won an award at Golden Globe.
The team of RRR is highly elated when the award was announced. Music composer MM Keeravani dedicated the award in order of priority to director SS Rajamouli for his vision, Prem Rakshit for his amazing choreography, Kala Bhairava for giving wonderful arrangement, lyricist Chandra Bose and singer Rahul Shipligunj his vocals. He also appreciated NTR and Ram Charan for their mesmerizing dance moves.
Keeravani thanked Golden Globe for this award and said he is very much overwhelmed to receive it. He said he is happy to share the excitement with his wife.
