Can Chiru and Balayya pull off what Bunny and Mahesh did ?

2020 Sankranti is the most lucrative festival season ever in the history of Tollywood as Allu Arjun’s Ala Vykuntapuramlo and Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru went on to secure tremendous revenues at the ticket windows. Both films garnered decent talk from moviegoers and then went on to emerge as blockbuster hits by taking complete advantage of the festive season. They collected a theatrical share close to 300 Crores by the end of their full run making it the best haul ever nabbed by Sankranthi films at the box office. It was a rare feat that two big-ticket films that released simultaneously saw such a huge magnitude of success.

Now, the onus is on Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna to deliver another productive festival season for Tollywood trade circles. Both Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy are carrying a huge craze in audiences. After five years, Chiru and Balayya are competing at the box office during the Sankranti festival. Both films are commercial potboilers packed with masala elements. The songs and teasers have already generated a terrific buzz in these films. The theatrical trailers are expected to further amplify the hype on them.

The impressive pre-sales in overseas hint that both films are poised to take a sensational opening. The domestic numbers are also expected to be mind-blowing. The question is can Chiru and Balayya can pull off a similar feat like Allu Arjun and Mahesh and deliver another best festival season for Tollywood or not?
