Veera Simha Reddy Trailer : Balayya mass in routine set-up

The theatrical trailer of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Sankranti film Veera Simha Reddy is out during the pre-release event this Friday and it doesn’t offer anything exciting except for the regular masala elements.
The two-and-a-half-minute trailer is a commercial package loaded with mass moments like powerful dialogues, glamourous songs, over-the-top action scenes, and emotional episodes. It has got all the makings of a Balakrishna film but there is nothing great to rave about in terms of its script and narration. It is set against the backdrop of Rayalaseema factionalism. The rivalry between families, faction backdrop, woman sentiment, menacing baddies, and high-octane action blocks are typical elements that have been showcased numerous times in Balakrishna’s previous films. And, Veera Simha Reddy appears to be another such attempt.
Balakrishna is undoubtedly the USP for this film. He roars in action episodes and warns his opponents in his signature style. He dances energetically, mouths his trademark mass dialogues, and bashes the goons single-handedly. Director Gopichand Malineni seems to be offering an outright commercial potboiler this Sankranti which caters fully to Balakrishna’s cult fans. For the remaining sections of moviegoers, Veera Simha Reddy might be another routine drama.
Aamir Khan’s negative role in NTR31 ?
Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar’s brief appearance is the biggest takeaway from the trailer. Balakrishna displays his vintage mannerisms from the outset. There are a couple of dialogues with political references which take potshots at the ruling government in Andhra Pradesh. There are likely to become a talking point among the political circle from now onwards.
SS Thaman did a decent job with his background score. The production values by Mythri Movie Makers are adequate. The film is slated for release on January 12th.
