BAFTA Awards: No place for RRR in the nominations

The BAFTA nominations have come to a close and while many had high hopes for RRR to be nominated, it did not receive any nods. This is partly due to the lack of categories for songs, which could have been a strong suit for the film. Not just the audiences but the team RRR must also have been waiting for a nomination but in the end, they are just left with disappointment.
However, there is another Indian film that has been making waves in the international awards circuit, Shaunak Sen’s documentary All That Breathes. It has been nominated in the “Documentary” category alongside All The Beauty And The Bloodshed, Fire Of Love, Moonage Daydream, and Navalny.
The documentary genre is not as widely explored in India and a win for All That Breathes could bring about positive change in the industry.
The “Film Not In The English Language” category was filled by All Quiet On The Western Front, Argentina, Corsage, Decision To Leave, and The Quiet Girl, with All Quiet On The Western Front leading the pack with 14 nominations.
On the other hand, team RRR and the entire Indian film fraternity is waiting for the nominations of Oscars to be out.
