Megastar Chiranjeevi spoke highly about director KS Ravindra ( Bobby) during the pre-release event of his upcoming Sankranti film Waltair Veerayya. Chiru commended Bobby’s story narrating skills and also appreciated him for fine-tuning the script after every occasion whenever he suggested changes. Chiru said Bobby valued his long experience and accepted the suggestions in script and screenplay. While complimenting Bobby’s modesty in accepting his involvement in the changes, Chiru criticized that some directors don’t pay heed and go with their version.
Though Chiranjeevi didn’t refer to any director by name, it can be understood that the embarrassing result of Acharya is still haunting him. His critical comments seem to be aimed at director Koratala Siva who helmed Acharya. It appears that Koratala didn’t take Chiru’s suggestions while working for Acharya. As the film ended as a colossal disaster at the box office, Chiru and Koratala were criticised badly for choosing such an outdated script. There were many rumours at that time that Chiru’s involvement in the story was the reason for the film’s flop show. Chiru fans fired on Koratala for coming up with such a poor story for a star hero’s film.
After Acharya, all is not well between Chiru and Koratala. In several media interactions, Chiru openly said he just did what Koratala asked him to do for the film. He indirectly passed the buck on to Koratala Siva. Now, Chiru’s indirect comments on Koratala during the pre-release event of Waltair Veerayya became a talking point.
