Akkineni Akhil is trying his best to score a good commercial success. Even though he impressed audience and critics with his acting abilities and dancing skills, the Akkineni lad couldn’t get the desired box office hit which is required to catapult his stardom to next level. He made his debut four years ago with VV Vinayak’s film. Since then, he is struggling to find the right director who could deliver the much needed commercial hit that defines his range at box office.
For his second and third films, Akhil worked with talented directors Vikram Kumar and Venky Atluri. But, both films couldn’t fetch the desired results as trade circles expected. So, Akhil’s attempt to score a decent hit didn’t come out successful even after three films. It is opined that Akhil might need a star director who is in form to give a strong push to his career. But, Akhil has different ideas. He is preferring to work with flop directors.
It is a known fact that Akhil is currently busy shooting for his next film which marks the comeback of Bommarillu Bhaskar after a brief hiatus. Bhaskar is struggling to revive his low lying career. He has convinced Allu Aravind and Akhil with a interesting script. After this film, Akhil might team up with another flop director. Reportedly, he has agreed to work with AWE fame Prasanth Varma who recently delivered a dud with Kalki.
Usually, star kids of Tollywood prefer to work with top-tier directors to build their careers. That’s how current generation top stars like Mahesh Babu, NTR, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun improved their box office potential. But, Akhil is following a different path and it seems he is trusting the scripts rather than the track record of the directors.
