‘Agent’ makers are back at the perpetual release dates

Akhil Akkineni is one star who couldn’t score a hit even with 3 films, that had a good cast, crew, music, promotions & hype. He could only see a hit with ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’, which didn’t have any significant competition during its release. And this happened a couple of years ago.

Post ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’ he took time to fathom out and finally committed to doing ‘Agent’, a spy thriller, which is directed by the reputed Surender Reddy. The film commenced shooting during the pandemic and is currently in its last leg of shoot. The makers seem to be very bewildered with the release of the film since the beginning. They couldn’t zone in on one date, citing various reasons at various times. Re-shoots, location issues, date issues and many others were followed. Surprisingly, after ‘Adipurush’ stepped down from the Sankranthi competition, the makers announced their arrival for Sankranthi. Although many had their inhibitions, they were very confident about it, although it reported a ₹4 CR loss for its Sankranthi release.
