Thaikkudam Bridge Over Varaha Roopam : Justice Prevailed

Thaikkudam Bridge Over Varaha Roopam : Justice Prevailed

The film ‘Kantara’ has emerged as one of the best films released in 2022. It has managed to gain both critical & commercial success on its release. But the film ended with a legal issue regarding the use of the song ‘Varaha Roopam’ which is the actual folklore of the flick.

In-famous Kerala-based multi-genre music band, Thaikkudam Bridge, has filed a copyright infringement case against the makers citing the song ‘Varaha Roopam’ as a plagiarism of their original song ‘Navarasa’.

Although the issue is not completely sorted, the court has issued notices to the makers barring them from using the song ‘Varaha Roopam’. Although the makers haven’t made any statement regarding this, they did stop using the song for the promotions, as in, the teasers, tiny promos or posters. The film premiered today on Amazon Prime and it didn’t feature the song.

Responding to this, the band Thaikkudam Bridge took to their Instagram handle and wrote that justice prevailed.

However, the fans of Kantara are now posting comments on social media that they are not completely happy with how the song has been removed. A few are commenting that the film is not the same anymore as the song actually took the film to next level and now, the absence of song is decreasing the tempo.

But, we hear that there won’t be any chance for the song to be placed again in the movie.
