Ramya Krishnan as an actress appeared in over 300 films in five languages: Telugu Tamil Hindi Kannada and Malayalam. She was born to Tamil speaking family Krishnan and Maya. At the early stage Ramya’s interest towards Dance forms like Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Western dance made her popular as a stage performer. Moreover she is the niece of Veteran Tamil Comedian Ramaswamy and with his support at the age of 14 she started her first appearance in silver screen in Tamil film Vellali Manasu in 1984.
She made her Telugu debut with Bhale Mitrulu(1986) starring BhanuChander, Bhanu Priya and Anand. She was notified for her performance in K. Viswanath’s Sutradaarulu(1989) and later emerged as one of the leading actress in Telugu Film Industry with commercial hits like Alludugaru, Allarimogudu Major Chandrakanth, Allari priyudu.
Ramya Krishna covered almost all Tollywood star heroes and she received prestigious Nandi award for her solo performance in Kante Kuturne Kanu. She made her Bollywood debut with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan alongside Amitabh, Govinda. Her stunning arrogant performance in Padayappa (Narasimha) with Rajinikanth was critically acclaimed and won her many awards. Her recent releases Baahubali the Beginning and Conclusion as Queen Sivagaami Devi gained universal acclaim and fetched her many films. Currently she is working on Tamilnadu Ex Chief Minister, Jayalalitha’s Biopic web series Queen directed by Gautam Menon and Murugesan.
