‘Kantara’ & ‘The Kashmir Files’ qualifies for ‘The Oscars – 2023

Rishab Shetty took to Twitter with great joy to announce that his blockbuster film “Kantara” has been nominated in two categories in the contention list of Oscars this year. “Kantara” has been nominated in the “Best actor” and “Best Picture” categories. This means that Kantara is eligible for Oscar members to cast a vote so that it could enter the final list.
The writer-director and lead actor, Rishab Shetty expressed gratitude to the audience in a Twitter post. Previously, Rajamouli’s “RRR” made it to the “Best Original Song” category whose final list is yet to be announced. Other Indian films have also created a ruffle in Hollywood.
The Academy Awards released a list of 301 feature films in the race this year which includes “The Kashmir Files” and “Gangubai Kathiawadi”. From the reminder list, “Chhello Show”, “RRR”, “All That Breathes” and “The Elephant that Whispers” have also made it to the shortlist in four different categories.
Along with this, ‘The Kashmir Files’ director Vivek Agnihotri also took to Twitter to announce that his film has been short-listed for the prestigious award. The final list will be announced on January 24th. The 95th Academy Awards will be given on 12th of March 2023.
