After the COVID-19 pandemic, Bollywood has fallen into deep trouble. None of its movies is able to do well in theatres. Only a few of them are managing to become successful. Especially, the star-studded big films are getting outrightly rejected by the audience. On the flip side, South Indian films like RRR, Pushpa, KGF 2 and Kantara are doing well in North India.
This trend made people say that Bollywood is doomed and South Indian films are going to rule Indian cinema. When asked about his opinion on this trend, KGF star Yash said that all this is bulls**t and good films work at the box office, no matter what.
Speaking at the India Today Conclave 2022, Yash said that he doesn’t believe in woods like Bollywood or Tollywood or Sandalwood. He said that the audiences right now are looking for good content, irrespective of its language and the industry. He pointed out that films like Charlie 777, Kantara and Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana have done well beyond Karnataka.
He said that the reports saying that Bollywood is finished is nothing but bulls**t. “Let’s just do good work. The audience doesn’t care whether it is from Bollywood, Karnataka or any other state,” he stated.
