Gopichand Malineni is one of the fewest Tollywood directors of the current generation who cultivated a taste to dish out masala entertainers that will cater to the masses. After making his directional debut with Don Seenu in 2010, Gopichand scored big hits with Balupu and Krack. He is currently working with Nandamuri Balakrishna for an action entertainer Veera Simha Reddy which is gearing up for release in January.
According to our exclusive sources, Gopichand will make his directional debut in Bollywood next year with a big-budget entertainer starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Reportedly, he will direct the Hindi remake of his blockbuster hit Krack in his debut film. It is heard that he made necessary changes to the script and narrated it to Ranveer Singh. Mythri Movie Makers, which is bankrolling Veera Simha Reddy, will pool resources for Gopichand Malineni’s Bollywood debut. They are happy with Gopichand’s work in Veera Simha Reddy and decided to fund his maiden film in Hindi.
Krack is a cop drama packed with strong commercial elements. Gopichand feels that the story of Krack is universal and will appeal to Bollywood audiences very well. Ranveer will reprise Ravi Teja’s role as CI.
