Major : No endorsement from Bollywood

Telugu films are going places with universal content and pan-India appeal. After Baahubali, Pushpa, and RRR, the latest film that has managed to garner attention beyond the South is Adivi Sesh’s Major, a patriotic biopic based on martyred NSG Commando Sandeep Unnikrishnan.
Even though Major didn’t get the desired reception at ticket windows in North, it has managed to impress a section of the audience there for its emotional content and breathtaking narration. What is more surprising is that Major didn’t get any appreciation from the Bollywood film fraternity. This is another reason for low collections in the North.

Bollywood usually encourages films laced with patriotic fervor. However, for Major, there is hardly any appreciation from Bollywood. Lately, Big B Amitabh Bachchan tweeted the trailer of Major and expressed Best Wishes to the team through his Twitter blog yesterday.
Major got lukewarm collections from Hindi belts. Even though the film was promoted aggressively before its release, it managed to collect just 7 Crores in North India. But, the film performed extremely well in the Telugu states and overseas.
