Meeku Maathrame Cheptha released today with good promotion. Vijay Deverakonda produced and Director Tharun Bhascker is the hero in the film. Short film director Shameer directed this flick. Lets take a look into review and rating .
Rakesh (Tharun Bhascker) and Kamesh (Abhinav) are friends and work for a TV channel as a host. Rakesh fell in love with Steffy , doctor by profession. Hero all set to marry his strict girl friend.
Suddenly one of his old video gets leaked in youtube , where he will be romancing other girl. Now how will Rakesh delete the video from Youtube and will his girl friend watch it or no is the main story slot of the film.
Tharun Bhascker gave his 100% as Rakesh. No where we see Tharun than Rakesh . chemistry between Rakesh and Kamesh give super fun in screen. 80% of the screen time is covered by these two.
Shameer is a short film director. Producer Vijay Deverakonda was impressed by the story slot and gave him this huge opportunity. He might be thinking this and tried to impress the audience more than story justification. But this fired back and second half left disappointed.
No one in the screen are familiar than Anasuya. She justified her role but her role doesn’t entertain much in second half. First half entertainment will be vanished after watching second half.
Vijay Deverakonda as a producer should spend more than being soo stingy.
Tharun Bhascker is perfectly apt. No where we see a new comer . Abhinav gets a meaty role and entertain audience all over his screen time. Youth misuse technology is the main story slot, where hero’s video will be leaked online. Director might been more cautious about screen play and rum time . second half is quite lengthy and might have been trimmed.
Vijay Deverakonda is stingy as producer , he also should be more cautious about production values. On screen the quality is more cheaper than short film.
Plus points :
Negatives : Anasuya
Verdict : Meeku Maatrame cheptha , a one time watch and entertainer for weekend . Not a must watch. Better VD might have produced 2 or 3 web episodes than making a film with this budget.
CCC Rating : 2.25/5
