Director Gautham Menon’s latest movie ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’ in association with Simbu and A.R.Rahman was released on September 15, 2022. The film is showing a good response and running successfully.
Gautham Menon has got his own style of making movies. Normally his films would be connected to romance, cop stories and about urban life. But now this film is a different story with village background. The audience also showed positive response. Reports say that the box office also has earned a huge number.
During his promotional interview to a Telugu media, the anchor fallaciously mistaken GVM as the doyen director Mani Ratnam and he asked GVM as how he managed to handle huge celebrities like Silambarasan, Vijay Setupathi and others in his previous film. It is apparent that the film is about Chekka Chivanda Vaanam which was directed by Mani Ratnam and released in 2018.
For this question, Gautham Menon genially replied as “It was very challenging to associate with Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Vijay and Arvind Swamy as you all know to get their dates; they all are very busy actors. But still I am Mani Ratnam and they will easily come when I call them. If I start shooting at 4:30 – 5 in the morning. They all will be there. They say Simbu doesn’t come to the films of Gautham Menon at 7 in the morning. But If I Mani Ratnam call him he will be there at 4:30 in the morning. It was a nice experience.”
GVM divulged that he has a good veneration towards director Mani Ratnam. In fact he wanted to join the team of Mani Ratnam as an assistant director at the early stage of his career for which he even tried, but it did not happen. But later, Gautham Menon did a Netflix series ‘Navarasa’ an anthology web series with his idol director Mani Ratnam.
