Following Salute's OTT release, theatre owners decide to boycott Dulquer Salmaan movies

Theatres owners in Kerala state are angry over Dulquer Salmaan and decided to boycott his movies. The reason for theatre owners taking such a harsh stand against Dulquer Salmaan is, the Malayalam star has decided to release his upcoming movie Salute on OTT platform Sony LIV, instead of movie halls. Dulquer Salmaan appears as a powerful cop on this movie and it has got good pre-release talk, raising hopes about good collections. Diana Penty is acting as female lead. Dulquer Salmaan himself has produced this movie under Wayfarer Movies banner.

Therefore exhibitors in Kerala state have pinned their hopes on the movie to make some bucks at a time when movie screening business is going through an extremely tough phase.

But Dulquer Salmaan deciding to go for an exclusive OTT release, instead of feeding the theatres has severely disappointed movie hall owners in Kerala state. It is said that though exhibitors requested Dulquer, he did not oblige their request. Miffed exhibitors have decided to boycott all the Dulquer Salmaan movies from screening in Kerala from now on.
