The much hyped DJ Tillu movie is in theatres now. This Siddu Jonnalagadda and Neha Shetty starrer is getting good walk-ins thanks to a meticulously planned pre-release publicity. Now let’s meet DJ Tillu to see whether he delivers what he promises.
DJ Tillu (Siddu Jonnalagadda) is a small time DJ with loads of attitude and also innocence. He lives life according to his ‘andaaz’ with lots of ‘masti.’ But his life gets topsy turvy after he gets romantically involved with Radhika (Neha Shetty) who is a bar singer. What starts as fling between the lead pair soon turns into a roller coaster ride pushing DJ Tillu into quite unexpected and difficult situations. How he manages to come out of this mess and what direction does the relationship between DJ Tillu and Radhika takes finally is the content of DJ Tillu.
DJ Tillu is a yuppy thriller which has thin storyline and therefore aims to entertain audience with its racy and entertaining narration. Kudos to director Vimal Krishna and hero Siddu Jonnalagadda, who has also penned story and dialogues along with director, for keeping audience engrossed with their swift screenplay and entertaining dialogues. Though movie lags a bit in the second half it ends well. Especially dialogues mouthed by Siddu Jonnalagadda with Hyderabadi slang will win over audience.
Coming to performances, Siddu Jonnalagadda deserves all the praise for his efforts. Either in dialogue delivery or body language or dressing style, he has got it perfectly right as a small time but ambitious DJ. He had effortlessly portrayed the character of bindass DJ Tillu who is also naive and innocent. The usage of English to present himself as a upwardly mobile guy makes audience laugh heartily.
Heroine Neha Shetty also excels in the her role. Her character has multiple variations and she has handled them in a matured way. She matched Siddu Jonnalagadda with her beauty and acting skills. Senior character artiste Brahmaji, Prince, Narra Srinivas, Kireeti Damaraju, Pragati and others appear in supporting roles and did their part fine.
In case of technicians, music directors Thaman and Sri Charan Pakala deserve praise. Thaman being a senior music director has now mastered his craft and has scored background music for DJ Tillu. He has clearly elevated it. Sri Charan Pakala has come up with foot tapping and massy numbers. Cinematography by Sai Prakash Ummadisingu is in trend with movie concept and he succeeded in keeping it thrilling. Editor Naveen Nooli also does the same. As DJ Tillu is produced by big budget production house Sithara Entertainments, it has good production values. Director Vimal Krishna needs to be appreciated for putting together all these talents in an impressive way and coming up with an enjoyable thriller.
Finally, DJ Tillu is impressive and can be a go-to movie for young audience. It has all the trappings of a youth thriller. If logics are kept aside, it can be fun watch.
