Dil Raju gives lame reason, receives flak

Producers Guild and Telugu Film Chamber boycotted shootings from August 1st to devise a strategy for implementing cost-cutting measures and negotiating remunerations of actors. Top league producer Dil Raju, a key member of the Guild and the Chamber, announced that he will coordinate with all stakeholders to sort out the issues.

While the shootings of many big-budget films came to a halt, Tamil film Varisu starring Vijay in the lead role is progressing as usual. As Varisu is a Tamil film, there shouldn’t be any objection to the shooting. However, its producer is Dil Raju and the director is Vamshi Paidipally. Both of them belong to Tollywood. And many other technicians and artists of Varisu belong to Tollywood.

Despite flop streak, young hero grabs handsome offers

Dil Raju came up with a lame logic that Varisu is not a Telugu film, so there is no point in stopping the shoot. Varisu is indeed a Tamil film, but the producer, director and other key members of the project belong to Tollywood. It is quite ridiculous that the decision of the guild doesn’t apply to a film which is coming from the stables of a Tollywood producer and is also going to release in Telugu simultaneously.

Many are commenting adversely on Dil Raju’s lame logic behind continuing the shoot of Varisu while big-ticket films from Tollywood have been stalled. It appears like Dil Raju doesn’t want to miss out on his plans as any delay might impact the release date of the film. Varisu is slated for release in January next year.
