US BO report: Tepid start for Dhamaka and 18 Pages

Ravi Teja’s mass entertainer Dhamaka and Nikhil Siddharth’s romantic drama 18 Pages took a below-par start at the USA box office on Thursday premieres. The buzz on both films is relatively low among overseas audiences as Dhamaka is an out-and-out actioner and 18 Pages didn’t generate much hype.

As per official trade reports, 18 Pages took a lukewarm start with less than $ 50K from Thursday premieres. To be precise, it collected only $ 40K by the end of the day. Nikhil’s previous outing Karthikeya 2 notched up $ 98K on its premieres day ( Friday). So, 18 Pages secured a way lesser opening than Karthikeya 2. The reports are just average for this romantic thriller. The first-weekend run will decide the fate of the film.

Ravi Teja’s Dhamaka also took a slow start in the USA. Though the premieres numbers are not officially revealed, going by the walk-ins it is believed that the final gross would be less than Ravi Teja’s previous films. The film garnered below-par reports all over.

We have to wait and see how well both these films perform in the first weekend.
