US BO : Pathaan set to beat RRR after a phenomenal weekend

Bollywood tentpole film Pathaan is smashing numerous box office records in all territories after its grand release on January 25th. While the domestic collections are quite sensational, the overseas numbers, especially in North America, are mind-numbing the trade circles. In the five-day long weekend, Pathaan punched out terrific revenues in USA and Canada.

As of this writing, Pathaan is likely to end the first weekend on a historic note with close to $ 9.5 Million gross( USA and Canada). This is a monstrous onslaught at the box office considering the regular ticket pricing there unlike Baahubali and RRR. The footfalls are quite staggering as it already surpassed the single record of highest number of viewers set by Baahubali 2.

Pathaan started the box office journey on a stunning note with $ 1.4 Million on its first day. This is a record-breaking start for a mid-week release. The film is unstoppable since then as it added another $ 1.1 million and $ 1.8 million in the next two days. As the reviews and word of mouth are very promising, the Saturday number is simply out of description as it amassed a massive $ 2.8 Million. This is a historical feat as only Baahubali 2 collected more than Pathaan on a single day in North America. Surprisingly, Pathaan is running riot at the box office just with the Hindi version alone.

On Sunday, Pathaan is poised to collect another $ 2 million and above and end the first weekend close to $ 9.5 million. The film is now on track to emerge as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time in North America by beating Dangal and Padmavat which collected just over $ 12 Million there. Pathaan is also going to edge past RRR ( $ 14.3 Million) by the end of its full run and emerge as the second-biggest grosser of all time in North America just behind Baahubali 2 which collected $ 20.5 million.
