Tollywood BO report: Dhamaka holds well, 18 Pages collects on par

After taking a solid opening on Friday, Ravi Teja starrer Dhamaka remained steady at the domestic box office on its second day with decent collections in all territories. The film notched up close to 10 Crores gross on its first day with a theatrical share of 5.5 Crores. Holding well on Saturday, the Nakkina Trinadha Rao directional managed to gross around 7 Crore worldwide to take the total gross close to 17 Crores in two days. The two days share accounts for 9.5 Crores. Dhamaka is performing extremely well in B and C class centers. Notably, this film is trending far better than Ravi Teja’s previous three films. His energetic performance and full-on entertainment are working in favor for this commercial potboiler. The film is expected to rake in solid numbers on the Christmas holiday and inch further towards the break-even mark. However, it should collect decent numbers on weekdays to emerge as a box office winner. It should collect around 25 Crores share to be termed as a profitable venture for all buyers.
On the other side, Nikhil Siddharth’s romantic entertainer 18 Pages is also collecting decent numbers in the Telugu States. There is a little drop in the collections on the second day compared to the opening day. The romantic entertainer collected a total gross of 6.10 Crores in two days. The total share translates to 3 Crores which is fairly a decent run so far considering the genre and the talk it received from moviegoers. Though the numbers are relatively very less compared to Nikhil’s previous blockbuster Karthikeya 2, it can be considered a decent run because of the competition from Ravi Teja’s Dhamaka and Hollywood biggie ‘Avatar The Way Of Water’. The film needs to perform strongly on weekdays to emerge as a decent hit at the box office.
