US BO report: Major stays afloat as Vikram packs a punch

It is a solid weekend for South Indian films at the US box office. Two notable films Major and Vikram have pulled in superb revenues in the just concluded weekend.
Telugu film Major, a biopic on NSG Commando Sandeep Unnikrishnan, has performed extremely well and emerged as the biggest hit in Adivi Sesh’s career. After embarking on a very strong start with $ 270K from its Thursday premiers, Major remained steady during weekend and collected good numbers .
On Friday and Saturday, the film notched up $ 216K and $ 238K respectively. Including Sunday numbers, Major has had a good weekend with more rhan $ 800K haul. Major is now career highest grosser for Adivi Sesh. The emotional portrayal of Sundeep Unnikrishnan’s life story has received unanimous response from audience.

Meanwhile, Tamil film Vikram is creating a havoc at the US box office with sensational revenues. The film punched out a terrific $ 540K on Saturday and added another quarter a million dollar haul on Sunday to fly past $ 1.7M mark. Vikram grossed $ 860K on its first day including premiers.
Vikram is now the highest grossing Tamil film of 2022 and also the career biggest hit for Kamal Haasan. The film is set to rake in more phenomenal revenues by the end of its run in overseas.
