AP/TG Box Office report: A below-par opening for Ante Sundaraniki

Nani’s latest fun-filled romantic drama Ante Sundaraniki got a very ordinary opening in the Telugu States. The entertaining trailers and strong promotions didn’t translate into good revenues on the first day as this is the lowest opening for Nani in five years.

Ante Sundaraniki collected close to 3.9 Crores share on the first day in the Telugu States. Considering Nani’s market and the openings of his previous films, this is a very low start as per trade experts. His last film Shyam Singha Roy collected more than 4 Crores share on its first day in the Telugu States.

Nizam territory is Nani’s strong zone. But, Ante Sundaraniki managed only 1.57 Crores share in this area. The Ceeded area openings are dismal with 38 lakhs share. In East and West, the first day numbers are very mediocre as the film collected 34 lakhs in each area. In Uttarandhra, Ante Sundaraniki managed to collect 44 lakhs which is an average start.

Nani’s highest opener is MCA which collected just above 7.5 Crores share. Due to a lack of decent hits since MCA, Nani’s market took a beating and the openings have plunged drastically.

Ante Sundaraniki garnered above-average talk from the audience and critics. The film needs a strong weekend to sustain at the box office and put its buyers in a safe zone.
