Adivi Sesh’s pan India plans scuppered

Tollywood actor and writer Adivi Sesh aimed pan India popularity with a good choice of script and genre as Major is a universal subject with patriotism infused to the core. However, the film didn’t get the deserved reception beyond Telugu states.

Major was promoted aggressively and also gathered a very strong buzz in North India. The special premiers across different metropolitan cities got a terrific response. Unfortunately, despite all this done, the film didn’t get the expected response at the ticket windows in North belts.

Major collected very impressive revenues in the Telugu States and overseas in the first weekend. But, the collections from the Hindi market are not up to the mark. The biopic collected a paltry 3.5 Crores net from the Hindi version in the first weekend. From Monday, the occupancies plunged further which means the film didn’t work in North India as expected by the trade circles.

In South India, barring the Telugu States, Major hardly got any reception from neighbouring states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.

Despite its low reception in other languages, Sesh and his team are happy for bringing an inspiring story of an unsung hero to the audience. Plaudits poured from all quarters for the spunky attempt made by the Major team.
