Sharwanand and Rashmika Mandanna’s romantic family entertainer Aadavaallu Meeku Joharlu (AMJ) got released this Friday. This feel good movie got enough attention during its run up to the release owing to its starcast and publicity material. Now, lets find out review whether it makes us say ‘ Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu ‘ or not.

What’s Aadavaallu Meeku Joharlu is about?

Chiru (Sharwanand) is a matured and cool guy but has got a very notorious reputation in the market, owing to his overly possessive and protective family. The affection his family has towards him plays spoilsport in his marriage attempts. Here enters Aadhya (Rashmika Mandanna), a poised and cute woman, and she gradually develops a liking for Chiru. Even Chiru is attracted to Aadhya but unable to express the same. However when he overcomes his inhibitions and takes charge to make it work, another hurdle comes up in the form of Aadhya’s mother Vakula (Khushboo) who has reservations about the marriage system. A determined and matured leady Vakula has her own reasons for her stance. How Chiru and Aadhya overcome all the obstacles and get united is what ‘Aadvallu Meeku Joharlu’ is all about.

How Kishore Tirumala presented a regular story:

Story wise AMJ falls under regular romantic family dramas to which Telugu audience have been exposed for ages. So to make these kind of stories work, directors have no other way but to depend on entertaining narration and presentation. Director Kishore Tirumala has done the same in AMJ. He had tried to interlace entertainment with story and ran the show. In between he had also chipped in with sentiment as there is enough scope for the melodrama in this family entertainer packed with a strong female cast. We should say he has partly succeeded in his attempt and turned into a feel good family entertainer. But in the process of turning AMJ into a family entertainer he could not create a powerful impact in any genre.

How Sharwanand and Rashmika fare:

Sharwanand and Rashmika have teamed up for the first time. Their pairing looked cute in promotions but could not replicate the same in the movie, owing to lack of strong love and romantic track. Director’s decision to present the movie as family flick, has taken a toll on chemistry between Sharwanand and Rashmika. However individually Rashmika has got a good role and she carried it with aplomb. She looks very cute and dignified. Coming to Sharwanand, roles like these are a cakewalk for him. He badly needs a hit at this juncture. But AMJ will deliver that hit to him, only if family audience patronise it.

Coming to supporting star cast AMJ has a very strong line up of women actors. Yesteryear heroines turned character artistes Khushboo, Radhika, Urvashi, Rajashri, Jhansi, Sathya Krishnan and others appear. Khushboo has an important role. Radhika, Urvashi, Jhansi play their parts well.

Devi Sri Prasad took up the responsibility of music. His songs have already been hits. He has come up with decent background score in tune with the genre of the movie. Cinematographer Sujith Sarang has made movie look decent.

Final take:

Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu is a feel good movie which bets on family and romance genres. Can be a casual watch, without expectations.
